Uninstall the unnecessary apps:

Uninstall the unnecessary programs:

To maximize the battery life on Windows 10, it is recommended that you uninstall the unnecessary programs. Sometimes, these programs keep on updating in the background which you are not aware of. It does not only consumes your internet data but also, it keeps on taking the toll on the battery life.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Other Settings:

You do not need to leave Wi-Fi or Bluetooth turned on always. They keep on working and keep on sucking the battery out of your PC. So while watching a movie, or when you leave your PC idle for some time, turn off these settings, they are surely gonna save some battery life on Windows 10.

Update Windows While Charging:

Well, you do not have much control over Windows update on Windows 10. There are though certain ways to stop the Windows 10 upgrade but Windows keeps on popping out unnecessary notifications, almost bugging you to the core of your heart to update it. Moreover, most of the laptops, these days, come with powerful speaker inbuilt. Though these speakers give you the soothing sound but they also suck the hell out of your battery life. Unplug Unnecessary Peripherals:

We often leave our mobile phones connected to the USB cables to our PC. Even though they consume the smallest amount of battery out of your PC but still it counts. So you might want to discontinue your mobile on being kept on charging. So keep a watch over USB cables, external mouse, Bluetooth-powered mouse, SD card and external keyboard and much more.

Keep your desktop and system drive clean:

When you boot up your PC, Windows 10 loads the most of the content of the C drive (or the drive where Windows is installed). The first thing we see on any PC after we power on it is Desktop. That means all the icons which are spread over the desktop are a part of C drive and they are also loaded up when the PC is powered up. So, try to keep your desktop clean so that Windows 10 does not have to load the entire programs scattered over the desktop.

Manage the brightness:

Brightness also consumes a lot of battery. So when watching a movie in a dark room, try to keep the brightness low. Or when you do not want your machine to be shut down and you are going somewhere, keep it dimmer. Keeping the brightness low in Windows 10 will save a lot of battery.

If you are aware of some other tricks and tips then lets us know.

How To Monitor Network Usage In Windows 10 And Save Your Data

windows 10 network usage app
Using the Task Manager, it is not possible to monitor network usage in Windows 10 as it only shows the data usage by the Windows 10 core apps. Know about a different way to find data usage by the individual non-core apps in Windows 10.

With the results drawn from my personal network usage in Windows 10, I can certainly say that now I am able to monitor my internet connection data usages on different Windows 10 apps including my browser, games, Skype, and online movie apps.Even though I have a fast data connection at my home, I am still very much conscious about my data usage. I feel lucky to have Windows 10 when it comes to monitoring my network usage and data usage.

So, I decided to write an article to tell you how to monitor the network usage in Windows 10.

How To Monitor Network Usage In Windows 10:

There are two ways to Monitor Network usage in Windows 10:
  • Using free ‘Network Usage’ app in Windows 10
  • Using Task Manager
So, let’s begin!

Monitor wifi data using free ‘Network Usage’ app in Windows 10:

  • Search for ‘Network Usage’ in the Search bar in your Windows 10 at the bottom.
Search for Network Usage App in Windows 10

  • Click on this app in the search result and Windows 10 will redirect you to the Windows store. You can download and install this app for free from the Windows store by clicking ‘Free’ as shown in the image below.
Network Usage app downloading from Store in Windows 10
  • Once you have installed this app, it will automatically open up and show your network usage in Windows 10 which looks something like this (as shown in the picture below)
Network Usage data details by Network Usage app in WIndows 10
  • As you can see above, at the top left corner we have our Wi-Fi connection named ‘fossBytes’ and its data usage over the last month and the current month by me. You can use the same drop down menu to change to any other connection if you use.
  • In the settings, you can also change your data metric from MB to GB.
Network Usage settings
Well, this app is just a basic app and perfect for you if you do not want the granular report based on your individual app — you just want the data usage to know that how much internet data you used last month in GB (Upload + Download) so that you can pay your internet bills.
Now if you are someone who is more interested in knowing about the data usage by individual apps, then you should follow the steps below.

Also Read: How to Fix And Monitor windows 10 Temprature

How to check Network Usage in Windows 10 using Task Manager:

  • To open the Network Usage in Task manager, Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc and your Task Manager will open. Or alternatively, you can also right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
Task manager Windows 10

  • Click on the App history tab above in the Task Manager
Network usage in Windows 10
  • You can also sort the apps data uses accordingly as Network, Metered network, CPU time etc. As you can see above.
But there is a hitch. You can only see the data uses by the core Windows apps in the Task manager. Where are other third party apps like Chrome, Skype etc? I don’t know why Microsoft has done this, this is surely irritating. But do not get disheartened, we have some more tips and tricks to find out the same. So let’s Continue…
  • Go to the Windows 10 settings
  • Select ‘Network and Internet‘ under the settings
Network and internet settings WIndows 10
  • Select Data Usage under the Network and Internet settings.
Data Usage under network and internet
  • Click on the Usage details under the Data Usage settings
Network usage in Windows 10
  • Once you click on the Usage details, it will open up a new pop-up Windows where you can see Individual Non-core apps’ network usage in Windows 10.
Network usage in Windows 10
As you can see above in the Usage details that Chrome has used a whopping 36.6 GB of data on my Windows 10.
This way you can monitor the apps which are not necessary but still are consuming a lot of your data and the same applies for the data used by the core Windows 10 apps under the Task manager.
I hope this article was informative for you. If you know some other Windows 10 tricks related to network usage, you can write that down in the comment section below. Also, if you have any other doubt about Windows 10 or you want us to cover those topics, you can suggest the same in the comments below.

Sony Xperia Z5 battery tips: 7 ways to make it last longer

The Sony Xperia Z5 is one of the longer lasting smartphones you can buy, but there’s always room for improvement. If you’re often finding that the battery in your Xperia doesn’t last as long as you would like it to, there are several ways to get it to go further. Here are our favorite Sony Xperia Z5 battery tips.
sony xperia z5 calling

1. Discover what’s draining the battery

The first thing to look at is the battery status page, which tells you which services and apps are having the biggest impact on your battery life.
Go into Settings > Power Management and you’ll see a screen showing how much battery life the Xperia thinks you have left, and you’ll also see the various power saving modes that are available to you.

2. Use stamina mode

Turning on stamina mode improves battery life by turning off mobile data and Wi-Fi whenever the screen is off, and by slightly reducing performance too.
Doing so makes a noticeable difference to battery life, but it does so by stopping notifications such as new emails. If that’s a problem, you can specify exemptions from stamina mode by selecting the appropriate app in Apps Active in Standby.

3. Not enough? Try ultra stamina mode

What do you do if stamina mode isn’t enough? You could try ultra stamina mode, which takes stamina mode a few steps further.
The effect on your phone’s functionality is really dramatic – ultra stamina mode disables almost everything apart from phone calls and SMS text messages – but if you need a big push to get your battery to last a little longer, then ultra stamina mode might just do the trick.

4. Change location settings

GPS is useful, but it can also be a bit of a battery hog. If you go into Settings > Location > Mode you’ll see three options. High Accuracy, as you might expect, the most accurate, but it’s also the most power hungry. If you don’t need your GPS to be super accurate all time, then try Battery Saving, which reduces its demands significantly.
Device Only is the least draining, but also the least precise. You can also turn off location services altogether, although of course that means doing so for every single app on your phone.
sony xperia z5 premium front display

5. Enable low battery mode

Your Sony’s power management options include low battery mode, which kicks in automatically when battery power drops below the percentage you specify. It turns off Bluetooth, GPS and vibration and turns down the screen too, and you can adjust what it does and doesn’t disable by ticking or unticking the checkboxes.
We’d recommend switching off vibrate on touch, image enhancement and auto sync during low battery mode, as none of these features are in any way essential. You can specify what battery percentage triggers low battery mode by tapping Activation.
androidpit sony xpera z5 tips tricks 5

6. Queue background data

Here’s another feature that can make a noticeable difference to your battery life: queue background data. In normal operation, apps can and do update themselves and download data in the background, and that’s good because it means when you switch back to the app it’s up to date.
But that can be horrendous for battery life, so enabling queue background data limits such updates to set intervals. It won’t stop new message notifications or anything important, but it will stop unnecessary updating ruining your battery life.

7. Investigate sudden changes to battery life

If you’ve been getting OK battery life and all of a sudden it goes bad, unless you’ve suddenly changed what you’re doing (perhaps you’ve installed an exciting new game that you’re hopelessly addicted to, so you’re on your phone much more than usual), the chances are you’ve got a rogue app draining the battery.
Have a look in Power Management to see if there’s an obvious culprit, and if not it’s not a bad idea to uninstall the most recently installed app or apps to see if that changes battery life. Some apps are just really bad for power use; for example, Facebook is known to reduce Android battery life by up to 20 percent in some cases.
Do you have any battery tips we’ve missed? Let us know in the comments.

How to fix common Samsung Galaxy S4 problems

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is one of the most popular Android phones ever produced. But the popularity of the handset does not mean that it is completely free from problems. In fact there are a number of issues that crop up time and time again; thankfully, many of these problems can be very easily fixed. Read on to discover quick and easy fixes for Galaxy S4 problems and solutions to common issues from random restarts to battery and speed problems.
galaxy s4 2

Battery drains quickly

Not making it through the day on a single charge is something that comes to many phones with age. If you find that your S4 is just not holding its charge for as long as it used to, it is possible that there is a problem with your battery, but it is more likely that apps are to blame.
s4 problems 1
You can check which of the apps you have installed are responsible for eating through your battery by opening up Settings. Tap More followed by Battery and you will see a graph that illustrates how your battery has been draining, as well as details of which apps are the culprits.
If you spot apps here that you are not using any more, you can simply uninstall them, but it may also be an indication that you need to remember to manually terminate certain apps when you stop using them. Just press and hold the home button to bring up your Recent Apps list and then swipe away any apps you want to close.
s4 problems 2

You'll probably notice that there is an entry for Screen very near the top of the list, if not at the very top. If you tap this you will be able to see just how long your screen has been on while your phone has been unplugged. To help reduce the battery draw your screen has, tap the Display button and try adjusting the Brightness ad Screen timeout settings to something a little lower.

s4 problems 3
Longer battery life can also be achieved by enabling Power Saving Mode. Head to the My Device section of Settings and you can switch on the feature that will limit processor speed, turn off haptic feedback and automatically adjust screen brightness. It's also a good idea to turn off any phone features you are not using -- like Air View, NFC and so on.
Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the button to the far right. In the list of Quick Settings, disable any options you do not need by tapping them.

Phone gets hot

The biggest concern here is that there could be something physically wrong with the battery, and it is overheating -- this in turn can lead to battery drain problems or worse. One way to check for battery problems is to remove it from your phone and place it on a flat surface. If it spins freely when you rotate it (try turning it over as well), the bulge that makes this possible is indicative of a problem that needs to be addressed. It could be a simple matter of buying a replacement battery, but it's worth taking your phone into an authorized repair shop to get it checked out.
s4 problems 4
If your battery seems to be physically OK, it's worth checking that your phone and all of its apps are fully up to date. To ensure that you have all of the latest updates for your phone, head to the More section of Settings and tap About Device.
Now tap Software Update followed by Update. Download anything that is detected and you can then check for updates for your apps. Fire up the Play Store app, head to My apps and hit Update All to grab any available patches. Having the latest versions of your apps is always a good wayt to save battery life.

Unexpected restarts

Having your phone restart randomly can be extremely annoying, and it is usually indicative of some other sort of problem. It could be that there is a physical problem with your battery -- such as the connections being bad -- but the fault could also lie with software. As described above, it’s a good idea to check for phone and app updates to make sure that this is not the cause of restarts.
microsd galaxy s4 closeup

If you have opted to expand your storage by adding a memory card, this could also be the source of your problems. Try removing the microSD card to see if the restart problem vanishes. If you find that your phone functions normally when there is no memory card inserted, it's time to invest in a new card.

Camera problems

Many Galaxy S4 owners report problems with the camera app. The precise nature of the problem can vary, but symptoms include the app closing unexpectedly, images not displaying properly, and issues with taking photos. As mentioned above, a faulty memory card can lead to other unexpected problems, so it's worth removing the card you are using at the moment or replacing it with another one to see if that helps.

Free Tool Lets You See Facebook Hidden Friends List of Others

how-to-facebook-friends-mapper-hidden-friend-list-In recent past, Facebook has brought more power to the users and now they can control all the information they’ve shared on their Facebook accounts. You can go to your Facebook privacy settings and limit the visibility of posts, pictures and whatnot.

Many of you would have set the privacy of your friends list as private. But this isn’t enough. A week ago, a new Chrome extension came into the limelight and it claims to reveal the hidden friends list to your friends. I tried out this tool myself and the “Only Me” option to keep your friends list hidden from the world doesn’t work anymore.

How does this Facebook Friends Mapper extension for Chrome work?

Facebook Friends Mapper Chrome extension fools the mutual friends feature of the Facebook and collects the hidden friends’ data of your friends and makes them public for you.
Let’s suppose a friend of yours doesn’t share his/her friends list but has few mutual friends with you. THN writes: “If, for example, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg does not share his friends list with the public and neither I am on his friend list. However, I have at least one mutual friend with him. So using Facebook Friends Mapper tool I would be able to see most of his hidden Facebook friends by exploiting the ‘mutual friend’ logical flaw.”

How to use Facebook Friends Mapper extension for Chrome?

Step 1:
To see any friend’s hidden friends list, you need to download and install the Facebook Friend Mapper extension and restart the browser.
Step 2:
Now go to your friend’s profile whom you are wishing to see the hidden friends list. You will be seeing a new (Reveal Friends) option in the friends tab.
facebook-friends-mapper-hidden-friend-list-
Step3:
Click on the Reveal Friends option and you will be able to see all the friends whether they are your mutual friends or not.facebook-friends-mapper-hidden-friend-listWarning: These kinds of extension are not good for your web browser, I just installed them in order to make the tutorial and write about this flaw. So I won’t recommend you to use this on a permanent basis.
Note: However to use this Facebook Friends Mapper Chrome extension, you must have one mutual friend with the target. It doesn’t matter of you are Facebook friends with that person or not.
If someone uses this tool, your privacy settings won’t work for that person and your hidden friends list will be exposed. I hope Facebook fixes this logical flaw before this tool goes viral.
You can install and check out the Facebook Friends Mapper Chrome extension for free.

The company recently announced a 3GB data plan for only N1,000. This is not a BlackBerry plan; it’s a standard plan that works day and night every time till you exceed your 3GB bandwidth.
This is a punch, a direct blow to MTN’s unlimited daily data plan that sells for N150. I love Airtel because they are extremely fast, and the guys rocking Glo BB plan on Android has made Glo really a shameful network when it comes to speed. :p
Alright, how do you get this Airtel 3GB data plan for N1000?
Dial *431# to check for balance, then
Dial *140#
Duration is 30 days.
This Airtel 3GB internet data plan works for all devices. Flex!!! ðŸ˜€
Update: Airtel has just informed us that the plan is exclusive to BlackBerry users, (i.e a BlackBerry plan).

5 Simple Ways to Free Up Space On Android

5 Simple Ways to Free Up Space On AndroidYour Android phone or tablet can help you do so much: From playing games, music, and videos, to email, chatting and web browsing; there is no end to the tasks you can carry out on your phone.
Unfortunately, the more apps and content you download, the more your phone’s storage is going to fill up. Once your phone gets filled up, you’re going to run into problems. Perhaps you want to bring along a few videos with you to watch on a trip, but your device is already out of space.
Well, the good news is that freeing up space on an Android phone or tablet is a fairly simple task. In this article, I will show you how to free up some space so that your phone will perform well and have plenty of room for your favorite photos, videos, music, apps, and games.

  1. Uninstall Unused Applications
If you have some apps that you no longer use on your Android phone or tablet, uninstalling them will free up some space and increase your phone performance. To do so, go toSettings -> Applications manager and uninstall the apps you don’t want.
  2. Clear App Cache
You can also clear app’s cache on your phone. Clearing the cache removes an application’s temporary files and thus can free up some space. In order to do that, go to Settings > Applications manager, find apps that take up the most space, and then tap on ‘Clear cache’.
Alternatively, you can download a cache cleaner app like Clean Master to help you clear those junk files quickly.
  3. Photos often take up a lot of space on a smartphone. Rather than storing them all on your phone, you could use a cloud storage service like Google+ Photos that automatically backup all your photos in the cloud. To enable cloud sync, go to Menu > Photos > Auto-Backup. All uploaded photos can be safely viewed on your desktop and other Android devices connected to your Google account.
  4. Most of the people leave the downloaded files on their gadgets after use. These files consumes lot of space and your device becomes unavailable for your next downloads. Deleting unnecessary data regularly keeps your device space free. In this case, try an app called DiskUsage that helps you to find the files and directories on storage card which consume a lot of space. It displays all the information graphically, making it easy to see which files or content are eating up the most space. Just be careful to when you decide to delete something you see in DiskUsage that is what you think it is.
  5. Move Apps and Media Files to SD Card
Moving apps and media files to your SD card’s storage would not only free up your phone’s internal storage but it also would increase your phone’s performance. To move supported apps to sd card, you can use the AppMgr III. This app is free to download and doesn’t require the roots access on your phone. All you have to do is install this app on your phone and you are ready to go. Please keep in mind that not all the apps can be moved to the external storage. Some apps require to be stored on the phone internal storage and they can’t be moved from there.

How to Disable WhatsApp Blue Ticks aka Read Receipt on Android

WhatsApp launched a new feature called ‘Read Receipt’ that allows users to see if a message that they have sent has been read by the receiver. This feature was implemented by the way of showing double blue ticks in the bottom-right corner of the WhatsApp message bubble. When your message has been read by the recipient, the double grey ticks will turn into double blue ticks.
With the blue tick marks, it’s now easier to keep track of a conversation on WhatsApp. However, some users who love privacy found it annoying with the update. If you don’t like the ‘read receipt’ feature, you can easily disable the blue ticks on WhatsApp. Please note that once you disable this feature, you won’t be able to see the double blue check marks when you send a message as well.
Here’s how you can disable WhatsApp blue ticks on your Android device.
  • Launch WhatsApp
  • Go To Settings -> Account -> Privacy
  • Untick the ‘Read Receipts’ option
  • whatsapp read receipt
  • Done! Now even if you have read the Whatsapp message, the sender will not receive a blue tick marks.
This feature however doesn’t work in group conversations so the sender will still be able to see the blue ticks whenever all the members of the group read his or her message.

  • Open WhatsApp

15 Helpful Tips and Tricks for Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 EdgeSamsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are by far the best Android smartphones that Samsung has ever made. These flagship phones are a step ahead of anything else on the market right now in terms of style and performance.
Furthermore, they also have many awesome features that really make them stand out. Some of them are familiar from previous Galaxy S phones, some are new entries from Samsung, and some come courtesy of Google’s latest Lollipop-flavored Android 5.0 release. If you are own S6, the following tips and tricks will help get the most out of it.

Quick Camera Launch

Samsung Galaxy S6 has an awesome camera. To make sure you never miss a shot, the Camera app now has a Quick Launch option which is turned on by default. Just double press the ‘Home’ button and you’ll be ready to fire the shutter in an instant.
To turn this feature off, open the Camera app and tap the ‘Settings’ icon and then toggle ‘Quick Launch’ to off.

Smart Alert

Samsung includes a new feature called Smart Alert in the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. Once enabled, your device will vibrate the next time you pick it up to let you know if you have any missed call or unread message. This feature is turned on by default so if you wish to play around with it go to Settings > Motions and gestures > Smart alert.

Change Your Phone’s Theme

Samsung Galaxy S6 comes with the ability to let you choose whichever theme you want. This basically changes your wallpaper, icons, system apps, and UI (User Interface). You can change the theme by going to the Settings > Themes, then choose one of the default themes.
There are three themes on the S6 by default, but you’ll find lots more via the Store link at the top right of the Themes page. There is also a theme tool on the way which will enable you to create your own themes.

Tap the Edit button and put check marks next to those which you want to appear. You can add up to 9 links of your choice.

Set Up Fingerprints

Like last year’s S5, the Galaxy S6 Edge has a fingerprint sensor built into the Home button, but it has been vastly improved. Now you can just lightly press it to have your print recognized — no more swiping.
The fingerprint registration process is very simple and only takes a few minutes. To add fingerprints, go to Settings > Lock screen and security > Fingerprints. You can add up to four fingerprints by tapping repeatedly on the sensor.
Remember to tilt your finger back and forth and place different parts of it on the sensor. This will help the system to recognize you more easily and reliably. Also make sure to get the very tip of each finger.
