For over a week now, someNigerian bloggers using custom domain for their Blogger blogs have been complaining that they are unable to view their blogs, that most times, their blogs display "This Site Can't be reached. The Connection was reset". I personal experience this and I can tell you, it's quite frustrating. Well, with my findings so far, it has to do with the network you are using for internet connection. As at the time of publishing this post, the culprit isEtisalat Nigeria.Up till this moment, I find it difficult viewing this blog on my iPhone, in which I tried Etisalat data plan but the same blog opens fine on my laptop, Android, Blackberry and iPad which all make use ofglo data plansfor internet access. So, if you're experiencing same problem and you are using Etisalat for your internet connection, just know you are not alone. There are many Etisalat users experiencing same shit. So, you might have to try other networks pending the time Etisalat resolves the issue. Are you experiencing same problem? If Yes, which network are you using?

The Fingerprint Unlock On Your Phone Can Be Hacked

Two researchers from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University have devised a way to bypass fingerprint unlock security on mobile devices. Kai Cao and Anil K. Jain  published the tutorial and the materials needed can be bought off the shelf. The hack takes less than 15 minutes and it was tested on Samsung Galaxy S6 and  Huawei Honor 7.

Hacking Samsung Galaxy S6 was relatively easier but the researchers claim that Huawei Honor 7 was a bit difficult. In a video uploaded to YouTube demonstrating the process, it was revealed that the materials needed include an inkjet printer, a few drops of conductive ink that contains silver and a special paper from a Japanese manufacturer called AgIC used for printing electronic circuits.

Spoofing the fingerprint isn’t really difficult with the needed materials on ground. A hacker can easily lift the fingerprint from a stolen phone and have it spoofed to carry out the hack.

Samsung takes fingerprint security very seriously, and we would like to assure that users’ fingerprints are encrypted and securely stored within our devices equipped with fingerprint sensors. As the report itself points out, it takes specific equipment, supplies and conditions to simulate a person’s fingerprint, including being in possession of the fingerprint owner’s phone to unlock the device. If at any time there is a credible potential vulnerability we will act promptly to investigate and resolve the issue.

Huawei too responded to the report:
We are aware of various reports which make the claim that vulnerabilities exist in fingerprint sensor technology used by several manufacturers, including Honor. We have equipped Honor 7 with a chipset-level security solution in which personal data in the form of fingerprint images is protected with hardware. This solution is significantly superior to that of most other Android phones.
This report further proves that security is only an illusion. The researchers reportedly said this same method didn’t work on iPhone 5s and Meizu MX4 Pro. With more devices using fingerprint unlock for sensitive activities like payment, it becomes even more important for manufacturers to further tighten security with anti-spoofing measures. The system uses several motion sensors to ensure maximum security. Yacht monitoring system unlike home monitoring systems do not report to the system rather it contacts to the boater directly via text or email if trouble arises.
Yacht monitoring technology allows the boat owner to remotely track and find the vessel incase its stolen. The system can be configured to send its position via satellite to a secure website. There are different levels of security and remote monitoring systems dependent on the size of the yacht. Different levels of detection, warning and consequence make an effective security system. Google Currently Testing Digital Wallet that Uses Facial Recognition

Technology keeps getting better and better every day. Imagine paying a cashier by phone, without it leaving your pocket.
Google has said it is testing ways to let people use digital wallets without having to even take smartphones out of their pockets. The Internet colossus is dabbling with ways to make its Android Pay system for smartphones hands-free, with verification by facial recognition, Google product manager Pali Bhat said in a blog post. “Imagine if you could rush through a drive-thru without reaching for your wallet, or pick up a hot dog at the ballpark without fumbling to pass coins or your credit card to the cashier,” Bhat said.
Google Wallet and Facial Recognition
“This prompted us to build a pilot app called Hands Free that were now in the early stages of testing.” Hands Free became available for smartphones powered by Apple or Android software and was being rolled out at a small number of Silicon Valley area eateries, including McDonald’s and Papa John’s, according to Google. The digital wallet uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections alone with location sensing capabilities in smartphones to detect when someone is near a store enabled with Hands Free payment technology.
“When you’re ready to pay, you can simply tell the cashier, ‘I’ll pay with Google,’” Bhat said. “The cashier will ask for your initials and use the picture you added to your Hands Free profile to confirm your identity.” At some locations, Google is experimented with using cameras in stores to recognize people with Hands Free digital wallets so they could pay without even pausing.
Since Android pay was launched in September, and average of 1.5 million accounts have been registered monthly in the United States and the number of locations accepting it has topped two million, according to Google. “We’re busy working to bring the convenience of Android Pay to more countries and a growing list of stores and apps,” Bhat said. Google’s mobile wallet competes with Apple Pay and others as people’s reliance on smartphones expands to using handsets to make payments.

Uninstall the unnecessary apps:

Windows 10 comes with a plethora of apps. I, personally, do not use News app, Store and many other. These apps keep sucking the battery life in the background. So, it is better to uninstall these apps.

Uninstall the unnecessary programs:

To maximize the battery life on Windows 10, it is recommended that you uninstall the unnecessary programs. Sometimes, these programs keep on updating in the background which you are not aware of. It does not only consumes your internet data but also, it keeps on taking the toll on the battery life.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Other Settings:

You do not need to leave Wi-Fi or Bluetooth turned on always. They keep on working and keep on sucking the battery out of your PC. So while watching a movie, or when you leave your PC idle for some time, turn off these settings, they are surely gonna save some battery life on Windows 10.

Update Windows While Charging:

Well, you do not have much control over Windows update on Windows 10. There are though certain ways to stop the Windows 10 upgrade but Windows keeps on popping out unnecessary notifications, almost bugging you to the core of your heart to update it. Well, you never know how long the Windows 10 takes. Sometimes, updating Windows 10 takes until eternity. It is advised that you keep your PC on charge while updating the Windows.

Reduce the volume:

We often leave the volume higher even though we are just typing or doing some work which do not actually need the volume to be up. Moreover, most of the laptops, these days, come with powerful speaker inbuilt. Though these speakers give you the soothing sound but they also suck the hell out of your battery life. Unplug Unnecessary Peripherals:

We often leave our mobile phones connected to the USB cables to our PC. Even though they consume the smallest amount of battery out of your PC but still it counts. So you might want to discontinue your mobile on being kept on charging. So keep a watch over USB cables, external mouse, Bluetooth-powered mouse, SD card and external keyboard and much more.

Keep your desktop and system drive clean:

When you boot up your PC, Windows 10 loads the most of the content of the C drive (or the drive where Windows is installed). The first thing we see on any PC after we power on it is Desktop. That means all the icons which are spread over the desktop are a part of C drive and they are also loaded up when the PC is powered up. So, try to keep your desktop clean so that Windows 10 does not have to load the entire programs scattered over the desktop.

Manage the brightness:

Brightness also consumes a lot of battery. So when watching a movie in a dark room, try to keep the brightness low. Or when you do not want your machine to be shut down and you are going somewhere, keep it dimmer. Keeping the brightness low in Windows 10 will save a lot of battery.

If you are aware of some other tricks and tips then lets us know.
